To lose excess fat from body, obese individuals try so many things. Along with working out and resorting to specialized diets, taking appetite suppressant medications is something they do. Phentermine is one kind of prescription medication that is used with weight loss diet and workout regime by such people. It works on the CNS and makes the users feel less hungry-which eventually aids in controlling calorie intake and help them shed weight. However, it should be used in the proper way and risk factors should be analyzed before starting its usage.

    Right ways to use it

To evade risks of developing side effects of Phentermine, medical advice should be taken by users. This is taken orally and usually in the morning. However, in some cases the doctors may advise the users to take it thrice a day- based on medical conditions. In any case, deviating from the recommended dosage can be problematic.

In most cases, it is taken for a period of 3 to 6 weeks. Its use can lead to addiction and sometimes, users may suffer from withdrawal symptoms. It is sold in extended-release tablets, which should not be chewed while in taking. Some variants need to be taken on empty stomach and others can be taken with food.

Learning about drug interaction is helpful

Using Phentermine with specific types of drugs can cause interaction and those can lead to health complications. So, it is advisable to talk with a doctor on this issue before starting its use. People with certain health conditions should not use it too.

Pregnant women should avoid using it and those with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, overactive thyroid, history of alcohol abuse should not take it. Especially, it should not be taken alongside a MAO inhibitor like isocarboxazid, phenelzine, linezolid and tranylcypromine.

    Learning about common side effects

Nearly any drug that affects the CNS has some side effects and the severity can vary. Well known side effects include shortness of breath, swelling in feet, irritability, chest pain, severe headache, uneven heartbeats and blurred vision. Some users may also develop sleeping problems after its usage.

In some cases, the severity of these symptoms is not alarming and they subside without medical intervention. However, in other cases seeking medical treatment may be necessary. Those weary of developing Phentermine side effects can try taking alternatives like Phenq and Phen 375.
